Silver Linings In The Storms Of Life

My staff and I have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support for the victims of Helene in Western North Carolina. We have loaded three large trucks full of food, water and supplies that have been safely delivered to Ashe and Watauga Counties. We cannot express adequately our gratitude for the kindness shown by so many.

Needs of those affected are changing as displaced families are settling into temporary living arrangements. With winter only a few weeks away, I am hearing requests for the following items:

  • clothes
  • shoes
  • socks
  • underwear
  • hats
  • gloves
  • blankets
  • pillows
  • charcoal grills/charcoal
  • propane
  • water testing kits
  • diabetic shakes/meal replacements

For those wishing to make monetary donations, the two following churches are making 100% of funds available to the victims with the greatest need:

  1. Checks made out to Blowing Rock First Baptist with Helene victims in the memo, mailed to PO Box 3 Blowing Rock, NC 28605
  2. Online donations to Alliance Fellowship Church, select 2024 Disaster Relief Fund

My staff and I are grateful for the opportunity to serve each of you and to be able to participate in helping our neighbors in Western North Carolina. We are operating under normal business hours next week, Monday through Thursday for those wishing to stop by with donations.

Sincerely,
Jessica
